Yoga Studio Etiquette
What shall I wear? Something comfortable!
Think of a gym but leave the waist area loose!
You will stretch a lot so make sure you can do that.
No restrictive clothing! You will want to move and breathe freely during the class!
Natural fabric is your best bet as it is ‘skin-friendly’! Since the skin is the biggest part of our nerves system it is important to keep it in top shape!
Here are a few key points that will make it easier for you to join Hamsa Studio!
What is the yoga hall like?
Hamsa Studio is equipped with mats, bricks, belts, bolsters, blankets and chairs.
All the yoga props are readily available for you!
However, please feel free to use your own props! We know it feels much nicer than a borrowed one!
We use props in every class. They help you get in the poses with greater ease!
I will show you how to use the props when they are needed.
Yoga Class etiquette upon arrival
The yoga hall is ready 10 minutes before your session begins.
You are welcome to arrive after that.
Be mindful of the teacher who is getting ready for the class!
You are welcome to take cup of herbal tea! It is ready for you in the kitchen!
You can sip this hot brew on your mat while you give yourself some time to ‘arrive’.
Please try to arrive on time! If you are delayed, send me a text so we can leave the door downstairs open for you!
Yoga etiquette after the class
Please leave the room in a clean and neat condition.
Make sure that the props are folded away nicely!
Your help in washing up the cups is much appreciated.
Leave the hall in a condition that you would like it to be when you arrive to it!
This gesture is an important part of your yoga practice! It shows your compassion, love and respect towards your teacher and your yoga friends!
You are welcome to stay after the session for a sip of tea and a friendly chat.
Spending peaceful moments after yoga is very uplifting. Hamsa Studio likes to accommodate this!
After the class, feel free to approach the teacher about any yoga related issue!
You are welcome to ask during the class, but if you feel shy the teacher is ready to answer your personal question after the class.
The primarily aim of yoga is purification!
You work on your body and mind simultaneously.
Regular and long term yoga practice guides you to your Soul where you feel naturally happy and healthy!
